May 5, 2012 was one of the most important days in my life. I graduated Middle Tennessee State University with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I had worked so hard for the past three years to make my dream a reality. My last semester of classes at MTSU I took 6 classes. These were some of the hardest classes I had to take and I was so proud that I made all A's! Then it was time to do my student teaching. I was very happy with both of my placements. My first placement was in Fifth Grade teaching Math. I had worried about this placement because I had always struggled in math when I was younger. After the first week I realized I really didn't have anything to worry about. I loved teaching Fifth grade math. I really hated to leave my first placement but I looked forward to starting my second placement. My second placement was in First grade. This placement gave me the most trouble. I felt like the students knew everything I was trying to teach them. My evaluations with my supervisor didn't go as well as I had hoped they would go either. She had a first grader at home and used this to evaluate my teachings. She told me that I taught a lower lesson than what they should be learning but I was going with the book and what my cooperative teacher had told me to teach. Oh well! When I finished my second placement it was time to graduate.
Graduation day arrived and I had butterflies in my stomach. I had decided to walk across the stage to get my diploma. I had even talked one of my good friends into walking. But when it actually came time to start walking I didn't want to go. I wanted to stay with my friends. I didn't realize how going back to college could affect my life. I had started with only my family as friends, but when I graduated, I had about twenty new friends and family. I will always look back at my college days and remember each and every person who helped me. I love you all so much.
